Scholarship
Dear Student:
I’ve attached an application and instructions for the 2012-2013 Delegate Wayne Norman’s, District 35A
Delegate Scholarship. Please read these instructions carefully and make sure that the following items are
sent to our office no later than Sunday, April 1, 2012 so that our scholarship review committee can
consider your application package to be considered for the 2012-2013 academic year.
All applications must include:
- A completed scholarship application form
- A current official student transcript.
- A copy of your 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Student Aid Report. You can apply for FAFSA on-line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- A statement of not more than 300 words stating your reasons for wanting to attend college, university or trade school; your field(s) of interest; post-education plans; and your need for financial assistance.
- A letter of reference from a teacher, an employer, or any individual.
Note: All current and former Delegate Norman Scholarship recipients need to re-apply each year. Additional
information on the eligibility conditions for the Maryland Higher Education Commissions Delegate
Scholarship Program and many other student financial assistance programs available to Maryland students
can be found at http://www.mhec.maryland.gov/financialAid/descriptions.asp
Because of the limited amount of scholarship funds that are available and the high demand from students
throughout Legislative District 35A, late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
